Care Home Management Podcast - Legal Advice Special
Show Notes

The February Care Home Management Magazine podcast is a Legal Advice Special and a must listen for anyone running a UK care home. In a roundtable format we discuss how care providers can challenge the harsher CQC inspections and the conduct of some inspectors. How can homes react to whistle-blowing and safeguarding claims that might not be accurate?

We also look at employment contracts and Section 1 statements that come into force in April and we get advice on changes to care workers' terms and condition. There could also be changes later in February to Sleep-in Shifts payments when the case comes before the Supreme Court.

Our panel also discusses the setting of fees and the way in which care is being commissioned by local authorities and the pressure this is putting on care homes.

Our excellent contributors are Philippa Doyle, a partner in the health and social care advisory team at Hempsons Solicitors, Sybille Steiner, partner and employment lawyer at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and Mei-Ling Huang, partner in the social care team at Royds Withy King.
